What's the difference between a GP40-2 and GP39-2? What year did the Reading dieselize? How many tracks were in Rutherford Yard? This board focuses on a discussion of questions or issues concerning the "prototype" Reading Company and its predecessors. While the aim of this board is to serve as a resource for prototype information for modeling purposes, general discussion and sharing of knowledge is also encouraged.

TOPIC: Ed Wiswesser's RDG loco and car dwgs - the list

This discussion is encouraging.

The header to the pages of my copy of the list of available drawings reads "READING MODEL ENGINEERS." That suggests RSME has a major stake (ownership?) in these drawings. It may be true Ed Wiswesser drafted most, if not all of them, but he may have acted as custodian of them for RSME. In addition, he appeared to have the copying equipment so that made him the distributor, too.

Turboboost10 and I are somewhat "geographically-challenged" in our ability to assist meaningfully, so I hope Rob makes successful contact.

Three agents immediately spring to mind who could continue this work: Reading Society of Model Engineers, "The Reading Modeler" or Reading Company Technical and Historical Society. There may be technical and personal obstacles to any of these taking over this service, but it would be great for the modeling community if someone would continue it.
